About Pasitrote

When we were little, our mother used to read us a poem by Rafael Pombo in which an aunt kept leaving the house again and again with a little girl in tow. She always came back with something different—some shoes, a feather, a little cap, a chair for a nap. That aunt's name was Pasitrote.

For years, the name remained tucked away in some corner of our childhood, linked to our mother's voice and to those stories we think we've forgotten, but which stay with us.

Long after, once in Madrid and with our own children, we opened that poem again. And we found ourselves doing the same thing as that aunt: searching for them for exactly what we had in mind but couldn't seem to find.

In our case, it was shoes. Beautiful, comfortable, full of color, and made with the care with which one chooses things for those you love most.

We searched for a long time and couldn't find them. So we decided to make them ourselves.

In 2017, that name from our childhood found us again. That is how Pasitrote was born, with the desire to create the shoes we would choose for our own children.

Everything starts with color

Every collection begins around a table, with sample books open and a conversation that can last much longer than expected.

We like colors that have something special, but are still easy to wear. Sage green, powder blue, pale pink, lavender, gold, or natural linen.

For us, color is not a final detail. It is often the beginning of everything, the way to imagine a shoe before even designing it.

Because we believe that everyday shoes can also be beautiful.

Nice and comfortable

There is something we have been clear about from the start. A beautiful shoe that hurts is useless.

That is why we work with rounded lasts, cushioned insoles, leather linings, and flexible soles. We design shoes that accompany children throughout the day, at school, at the park, or at a celebration.

Many of these things cannot be seen in a photograph, but they are felt when walking and, above all, at the end of the day.

Designed by us, made in Spain

All our models are born in Madrid. We design them ourselves and personally choose the leathers, fabrics, lasts, fastenings, and every single color.

Afterward, each pair is made in small Spanish workshops, alongside people who know their craft well and have spent many years working with their hands.

Not all workshops do the same things equally well. That is why we look for the right one for each model; whoever best sews a Mary Jane is not always who best makes an espadrille.

We check the samples, adjust the details, and start all over again when something hasn't turned out the way we imagined.

That way of doing things eventually shows.

We're going out tonight.

Now it is us who go out, search, choose, and return with the shoes.

We do it so that you can find them without scouring stores on a Saturday morning with the little girl in tow.

Shop from wherever you want. We’ll take
care of the rest.
