If we are talking about the star footwear for the months when the heat intensifies, there is no doubt that we are talking about menorquinas.
This traditional and ancient footwearhas its origin on the wonderful and inimitable island of Menorca, as is logical. It is said that the first to use this type of footwear were the slingers of the Balearic Islands when they were in the service of the Carthaginian general Hannibal, in the midst of the Punic Wars against Rome, back in the 2nd century BC.
From that moment on, they were used by the peasants and farmers of the area, thanks to the resistance, comfort, and protectionthey provided to their feet after long and intense days of heat in the fields.
Since their beginnings, they have evolved towards the use of different types of materialsthat make them suitable for any casual or sporty situation.
Made from nubuck leather, we have two different models: the classic menorquina or abarca with a heel strap (ideal for older girls) and another that offers greater support with a Velcro closure, which, in turn, allows the little ones to have autonomy when putting on and taking off their shoes.
Nubuck leather also has the particularity of having a much softer and velvety texturewhile allowing the foot to breathe. Both models feature a caramel-colored rubber sole with non-slip properties and a flexible, comfortable leather insole.
These two models of menorquinas are available in a multitude of colors, such as the always elegant and stylish mustard yellow, perfect for combining with light or dark tones and contrasting with tanned skin, so typical of the summer season.
In short, a true statement in favor of style, comfort, and safety for the little ones in the house.
